Who is Dianne?

Hi. My name is Dianne and I am a 47 year old mother of 3 children.

I have always been into sports and fitness. I was a karate member of the British Wado-Ryu Shikukai Association for over 10 years, gaining a 1 kyu belt and competing in local and national competitions. I was also a member of the Essex Athletics team.

I have competed many 10km runs, half marathons, Brighton marathon 2017/2018 and most famously the London Marathon in 2004.

Having always been extremely interested in health and fitness, I decided to turn my passion into a career and quit my job as an Equity Trader in the City of London in 2009.

I studied with Future Fit, the UK's leading fitness training provider and in 2011 I passed as a Level 2 Gym Instructor. Then in 2012 I qualified as a Personal Trainer Level 3. I am also a City and Guilds qualifed nutrition adviser, specialising in Nutrition for Weight Management and Nutrition for Sports and Exercise.

Apart from all the obvious reasons for choosing a Personal Trainer, I am a big advocate for the benefits of exercise on mental health. I believe that exercise and the correct diet can enhance mental well being, improve overall moods and in some cases, prevent the need for medication. For mild depression, research shows that physical activity can be as good as antidepressants or psychological treatments like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

The best part about being a Personal Trainer is helping people achieve their goals, whether it is weight loss, improving their overall fitness or beating their PB in a competitive run.  I can understand how it is not always easy to exercise whilst working full time and running a family home. Its added pressure, which in turn, can lead to an increase in stress and anxiety. The last thing you feel like doing after a days work, with the kids running lose and shouting at each other, is go to the gym.

I am encouraging whilst very disciplined, I am a good listener but here to push you, I am dedicated to achieving results whilst sympathetic to your challenges, I am professional and focussed and chose my career for a reason....I can be a part of your journey to the person you want to be.
